Erectile Drugs

All erectile-dysfunction drugs work in the same way. Each blocks an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5, relaxing smooth-muscle cells to allow increased blood flow to the penis. (All three also have similar possible side effects, the must common being headaches and facial flushing.)

Sildenafil/Viagra

Drug Class

Sildenafil commonly referred to as Viagra, it’s brand name is an oral therapy for erectile dysfunction and is classified as a PDE5 inhibitor. By blocking the PDE-5 enzyme, Viagra helps to smooth the muscles of the penis to relax and increase blood flow.

Brand Name

Viagra, Revatio and under various other trade names.

Nickname

Mr. Blue because of the powder blue colour

Standard Dose

A blue tablet comes in doses of 25, 50 and 100 mg, taken 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity

Duration

You can engage in sexual activity within 30 minutes of taking a tablet and for up to 4 hours.

The Buzz

Viagra was intended to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, but is increasingly being used my younger men and party revelers who want to get hard and stay hard while on mind-altering drugs that inhibit erections like ecstasy, MDMA and crystal methamphetamine. The drug stays in the bloodstream for a very long time.

Overdose and Dangerous Side Effects
  • As with all PDE5 inhibitors, Viagra should not be used by men taking nitrate medications, because combining them with Viagra might provoke potentially life-threatening hypotension (low blood pressure). Both nitrites (like amyl nitrite (Poppers) and butyl nitrate) as well as Viagra lower blood pressure. Taking both together can drop blood pressure so much that it can cause fainting, shock and even death. Viagra takes a day to leave the body, so wait 24 hours before using Poppers.
  • Viagra overdose cases are connected to pre-existing heat problems and may, in some cases, be the result of over-exertion during sex. Overdose can lead to being out of breath, chest pains and black outs. Viagra decreases blood pressure and can be a bad mix with other drugs that affect circulation, such as Poppers and GHB. Be careful with dosage. Too much Viagra can lead to priapism – erections that won’t go away. If an erection lasts for more then 4 hours, medical attention is urgently needed. Permanent damage and impotence can result in excessively prolonged erections. To avoid this, do not use Viagra more than once in a 48-hour period.

Vardenafil/Levitra
Drug Class

Vardenafil commonly referred to as Levitra, it’s brand name is an oral therapy for erectile dysfunction and is classified as a PDE5 inhibitor similar to Viagra and Cialis.
Brand Name

Levitra
Standard Dose

It is available in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg doses in round orange tablets.
Duration

Levitra should be taken 25 minutes prior to sexual activity, with a maximum dose frequency of once per day. It lasts up to 4 or 5 hours.
The Buzz

Levitra like Viagra was intended to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, but is increasingly being used my younger men and party revelers who want to get hard and stay hard while on mind-altering drugs that inhibit erections like ecstasy, MDMA and crystal methamphetamine. The drug stays in the bloodstream for a very long time.
Overdose and Dangerous Side Effects
  • The most common side effects with levitra are headache, flushing, stuffy or runny nose, indigestion, upset stomach, or dizziness. These side effects usually go away after a few hours. Levitra, as with all PDE5 inhibitors, should not be used by men taking nitrate medications, because combining them with levitra might provoke potentially life-threatening hypotension (low blood pressure). Taking Levitra with nitrates such as amyl nitrite and butyl nitrate (also known as poppers) can lower your blood pressure, causing fainting, shock and even death. Levitra stays in the body for 24 hours so wait a day before using nitrites (Poppers).
  • An erection that won’t go away (priapism). If you get an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away. Priapism must be treated as soon as possible or lasting damage can happen to your penis including the inability to have erections. Color vision changes, such as seeing a blue tinge to objects or having difficulty telling the difference between the colors blue and green.

Tadalafil/Cialis
Drug Class

Tadalafil commonly referred to as Cialis, it’s brand name is a PDE5 inhibitor, currently marketed in a pill form for treating erectile dysfunction.

Cialis

Le Weekender because it lasts more then 36 hours

Cialis tablets, in 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg doses, are yellow, film-coated, and almond-shaped.
Duration

Cialis can be taken once a day in a lower dose or on demand. You can engage in sexual activity within 30 minutes of taking your tablet and for up to 36 hours.
The Buzz

Cialis like Viagra and Levitra was intended to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, but is increasingly being used my younger men and party revelers who want to get hard and stay hard while on mind-altering drugs that inhibit erections like ecstasy, MDMA and crystal methamphetamine. The drug stays in the bloodstream for up to 36 hours.
Overdose and Dangerous Side Effects
  • The most common side effects are headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, stuffy nose and flushing. Since PDE5 inhibitors such as Cialis, Viagra and Levitra may cause transiently low blood pressure (hypotension), organic nitrates should not be taken for at least 48 hours after taking the last dose of Cialis. Using nitrites such as the "sex drug" amyl or butyl nitrite ("poppers") within this timeframe may increase the risk of life-threatening hypotension. Taking both together can drop blood pressure so much that it can cause fainting, shock and even death. Cialis takes a two days to leave the body, so wait 48 hours before using Poppers.
  • An erection that won’t go away (priapism). If you get an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away. Priapism must be treated as soon as possible or lasting damage can happen to your penis including the inability to have erections.
